Hello everyone its Terry again with the ESGA blog report for May 1st. Today Brad and I walked down Convict Creek below 395 down to just below the confluence of McGee creek. The fishing was fun in the small water, the views were absolutely amazing with so much Sierra snow locked up in the mountains. We managed to hook several nice rainbows and a couple browns. It was encouraging to see several pairs of fish going through their spawning dance in the shallow gravel beds. Of course we walked around these fish trying not to disturb them, promoting populations of wild fish for the future. Nymphing with small stones and stripping streamers was the ticket today, check out the fish Brad fooled with a cone head zonker.

Check back soon, I’m heading up to the East Walker this week.
