Hello fly fishers, Terry here with a post for the last few days of fishing. The spring run-off is in full swing meaning our creeks and rivers have swelled to their limits and beyond. Most fisherman are having poor to fair success nymphing at Hot Creek and the Upper O. I was on Crowley Fri and Sat float tubing in Hilton bay and Whiskey Bay. Catching was consistent but never red hot. Fished sink lines stripping leeches and calibaetis, mostly perch on the streamer and mostly trout on the nymph. Today Brad and I fished through the weather and managed to hook a few nice fish in Mc Gee bay nymphing with midges and calibaetis. We then moved to Leighton and got into a good grab on midges for about an hour boating around10-12 fish. The wind blew us out of there around 3:00, so we went to Crooked and searched a few spots and didn’t come up with much. Not bad for a few hours in the afternoon during variable weather, looking forward to tomorrow- Brad and I are going for the morning session and it looks like favorable weaher. Check back for report and pix.
